Operation Valentine a hit at BLC!

Colonie Senior Service Center’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of the Capital Region hosted the Second Annual Operation Valentine on Thursday, January 5 at the Beltrone Living Center.  Over 30 volunteers came to the event to write cards to send off to men and women in the armed forces for Valentine’s Day.  Mailboxes will be set up at the Beltrone Living Center from January 9-January 13 for anybody who wishes to drop off a Valentine for a soldier!

At the same event, volunteers cleaned 219 books for The RED Bookshelf. The books will re-circulate back into the community where they are made available for families to own for free.

RSVP of the Capital Region serves over 300 volunteers at 40 stations in Albany, Schenectady and Rensselaer Counties. We are thankful to have such an amazing group of volunteers who so willingly give their time to help the community around them.
